It's Meeting Night
It's a third Thursday, and that means an Omicron business meeting. I managed to arrange a ride to Gig Harbor, though of all the addresses over there, this one is probably the easiest to find. But the dark, tree lined roads make driving at night a bit of a challenge for me, so I nabbed a ride.
The meeting was pretty uneventful. We don't have the final numbers yet, but it looks like we only cleared about $250 in profits on Pizza night; well, with donations and the sale of eight pizzas that night, we may have cleared about $550. This is our lowest year ever. As with any fundraiser, they run their course. So, unless we come up with a good money making idea, this may have been the last year for pizzas.
We voted for our Woman of the Year, who is bestowed with a tiara, some old velour drapes, a bouquet of withered silk roses, and the honor of putting on the dinner next year. I hope I NEVER make woman of the year!!! Anyway, that's how we do it at Omicron, and of course the Social committee helps with the planning of the next year's festivities. This year's event will be at a member's condo meeting room, and it will work out well for a sit down dinner made by the committee. Price is only $10, much cheaper than at any restaurant. That's it for tonight.
