A Lot of News
I got some news today, both good and bad. Bad news first, okay? My dear friend was hit by a car last Tuesday morning at about 7:45. It was light out, and not raining (I'm pretty sure). The driver was an 81 year old woman. My friend is in the hospital with two broken legs, a broken rib or two, a broken clavicle and a 6" gash on her head. Her Mom called me with this news, and said that her gash was stitched up, the ribs and clavicle are expected to heal on their own, one leg had compound fracture/s and was operated on, and the other knee is waiting until the swelling goes down before they can work on it. Apparently she cannot move her arms, probably because of the upper body injuries - but who knows. Because of that, I haven't called her yet. I will talk with her Mom again tomorrow and check into that, and I will call the hospital and find out about visiting protocol, etc. This is not a good thing. I wouldn't wish this on anybody.
