More Snow!
That's my big news for y'all. We had a lovely smattering of snowfall, and it was lovely indeed, mostly because I wasn't going out in it, and because it wasn't sticking to the streets around here. So I just sat here in my swivel glider and watched the birds at the feeder outside the window, and we didn't just have sparrows and chickadees today, we had a lovely pair of Steller's Jays that seemed grateful for the free food.
We can't use our kitchen sink, and DH is taking his sweet time fixing it. It got clogged Saturday, not with coffee grounds, but with a sludge of oils from the coffee grounds we've washed down the drain for the last 18 years. First he plunged it; then he took the pipe apart to check out the clog; then he went to L0we's to buy a drain auger (a snake) yesterday; this evening he finally starts working on it and discovers that the hot water hose is leaking, so he just got back from L0we's with a replacement and is mumbling in the kitchen. I want to go make a pot of coffee, but he has all the under-the-sink stuff scattered about the kitchen, so I had better not. I'm sure it will be working sometime tonight, or, more likely, he'll be working on it well into the night and into the morning as is his MO.
I had an enjoyable lunch and visit with a friend last Thursday. We went to Applebee's, and I won't be going back. My fish-n-chips were fine but the coleslaw had way too much mayo. Plus, it was way too noisy in there, we could hardly have a decent conversation. So afterward we had coffee at St@rbuck's where we chatted for maybe 90 minutes. She was going to come over Friday and bring a friend to meet me, but something came up and we'll have to do that some other time.
Tomorrow I should take a shower and wash my hair, then make a trip to Trader Joe's. Number one on my list? Can you guess? Leave your guess in my comments.
I've been having a craving for some bread pudding. Old fashioned bread pudding with lemon sauce just sounds like the comfort food that's appropriate for a freezing day like tomorrow promises to be.
A few days ago I thought I was going to call my neuro for a run of 'roids. I was having a really bad day. But all seems to be back to my lousy normal, so I'll just let it be. On that note,
Good Night, TTYL and Be Well
A hot cup o joe. Then feed the birds. YEAH!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here just fog.
ReplyDeleteThis last weekend found us at Home Depot more times than one would like. Our drains must be on the same path LOL. Billy found our hot water valve and the pipe behind it leaking. Seems the dang faucet was leaking too. No coffee grounds in the sink trap just a mound of loose change - go figure? Enough yucky coins to buy a cup o coffee.
Trish was here all week and she is a shopping fool ha ha so we also hit Trader Joes and I picked up some pasta and a jar of lemon curd jam stuff.
Hope your feeling better and you got your bread pudding!!!
