Convention Meeting

This afternoon my sorority had a State Convention Planning meeting and I lucked out by not having to do any big job. Yay me! If you think that's me being lazy, to some extent you're right, but more to the point I'm just not that into State involvement anymore. Chapter involvement is one thing I feel comfortable committing to, except for events that start at or before 8 AM. I have limits. (Remember last year's State Meeting? When I tired myself out during the day, and got too hot at night, then fell and couldn't get up? The visit by the firemen; the breaking down of the room's door (because the hotel couldn't find the tool that releases the lock latch)?? Such fun. I slept 12 hours a day for the next three days!

But, I will go if I have to; as long as I get some help paying for it. Hell, I might have DH drive me there and use my w/c and/or crutch. That would solve a lot of the fatigue issues right there, but it would also leave me stranded w/o a car at my disposal. But I do know that some nearby restaurants deliver - so that might be a viable plan.

Last night I spent a long time after watching Olympics listening to Anne Tyler's latest novel, Noah's Compass. I do love me some Anne Tyler. One thing I am noticing in this novel is that many of the more minor characters don't seem to be as fully developed as in her previous books. Still, I'm enjoying it so far. The best thing? There was a long waiting list to get it at Tacoma Public Library, but since I (recently) discovered their digital library and downloaded their free OverDriveMedia software, I didn't have to wait at all! Plus, it's so much more easy on the eyes than reading is for me anymore. At least until I get those new glasses (they're on the list).

So, that's it for tonight, I guess.

Good Night, TTYL and Be Well

  1. I have probably asked you already but here goes ... which sorority ?

I was Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta) in college and a member of Beta Sigma Phi for a while.

  2. That's okay, JC, I forget things all the time. I belong to ESA INtl. the Omicron chapter in Tacoma, it's a philthropic sorority, not panhelenic. We raise money for St. Jude's Research hospital, Easter Seals, and NMSS, all while having fun and camaraderie with some pretty spectacular ladies. If you're interested in joining us, E-mail me. :-)
