Hope it's a Good Groundhog Day

Oops, that wasn't supposed to publish - I hadn't written anything yet!

Sooo, that Groundhog had better not see his shadow today, because even though we in the Pacific Northwest have just had the warmest January EVER, I still am not find of Winter. Though we haven't had any snow to speak of here, it has been wetter than normal. I don't know what I'm complaining about because I never go out in it - so it shouldn't affect me. Right? All I can say is that I'd rather look out the window at snow falling, or sun shining. That's all. It's not like I really have a 'room with a view', you know?

I just noticed yesterday, late, that all of a sudden I have a slew, or gaggle, or flock, or whatever you call followers who have recently found and joined my blog. I thought, Whoa! What is this? But then I remembered that I have been clicking on links, and checking out people who were offering a giveaway, and if I liked what I saw, I posted a comment. I was hearing Clint whispering in my ear "Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya?" and I said WTF, nothing ventured, nothing gained. And look what has happened: I have increased my readership by one third. I call that pretty damned lucky. So, welcome to Muffie, Terry, Sherry, edeett, msdaydreamer, stephany, becky, and scatterbrain. If I bore you, all you have to do is change stations.

I have a cath change appointment tomorrow, so I won't be staying up all night like I have been for the past two nights. This means that I also won't be thinking of ten things that make me happy and then passing along the award. - tonight. And note to JC: I still haven't forgotten about the Pay It Forward I won. I'll get to it. I will tell you that my kitties have gotten some fine exercise with that little 'mousebird' catnip toy. I think Purnima hasn't moved this much in, well, ever, and I think she has dropped some weight.

Speaking of exercise, I will be calling to set up some appointments for PT tomorrow, or Wednesday if I don't have time in the morning or don't get home before 3 PM. I need to start moving more, and PT is a good place to start. I also want DH to learn how to properly do range of motion exercises with me. I notice that my left leg is not bending very well, and I have to pay attention to a little foot drop. My Achilles has gotten really tight. The time is now.

Good Night, TTYL and Be Well,

  1. Don't worry about the Pay It Forward. I had fun doing it and that's what matters to me ... fun.

Glad your kitty enjoyed the toy. My five don't move much anymore ... if big Al moves to a new location ... that's his form of arobics ..

Hope you appts go ok. I had so many years of going to this dr and that dr. Now, I stay away for as long as I can.

  3. Hi Webster

I am one of those folks that have been lurking around your site for a while now! Question though, if I don't write a comment can you tell that I have been reading, especially if I use google feeder to tell me when something new has been written? I have started wondering this as I have been reading more folks talking about readership increasing etc.

We both live in the Seattle area--I live in Edmonds. I have a lot of admiration for all of you that have blogs and make the time to write your thoughts. It helps me deal with some of the stuff that comes my direction with all of this. For me it's MS and RA.

Thanks again--good luck in PT tomorrow!

  4. Hi JC, I want to Pay It Forward - but later will be better for me. My black outside kitty came in one night and found the 'mousebird' and batted all through the house, through the kitchen, and into the dog's water dish, and finally killed it in the back room. I think it was a hit with her too! Perhaps the most fun ever - assuming that catching real prey outside isn't considered fun.

Jan, yeah PT and exercise sound like good idea, but they don't sound like fun. We'll see. I couldn't call before three PM, so will call tomorrow.

Gretchen, welcome lurker! I can only tell who the last ten visitors were via my BraveNet Counter. I don't always check it, and only tonight got a referral from Google reader. If you become an official follower, Heck, I don't even know what that means! I think I used to know, but it's escaping me now. Whatever.

  6. Yes, time is now. Good luck, mate! I face SE to the most glorious sunrises. Such lovely weather. Careful, soon you will have "followers guilt" from not being able to visit all the people who visit YOU! I am suffering from that, especially now that I am working on my book. Aunt Vi's birthday, Valentine's, Mom's birthday---burning out. LOST, what the...happened?? Good VS Evil? STOP, old story.
