Happy New Year

What will 2012 bring? Will it bring the Apocalypse?, the End of Days?, The cure for all Illnesses?, A New Age (as opposed to the Dark Age we have been living in)? Or will it bring more of the same? This is what what I think it will bring -- whatever we put out in the universe is what it will bring back to us. The nicer we are to others, the nicer they will be to us. It may not be the same individuals who give what we put out there, but what we put out there will come back to us. Eventually.

I don't make resolutions. I have set myself for that failure too many times. Lose weight. Exercise more. Stop smoking - wait, that's not one of mine; I never smoked, er, cigarettes. There are things I will "try" to do: eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. My diet has consisted of way too much processed food ever since my cooking days became DH's job. I have cravings for things like canned peaches! CANNED peaches -- it is Winter, after all. I bought the makings for a Broccoli - Cauliflower - Craisin salad, all ready for me to cut up, tomorrow.

I want to do more art; Listen to more books; Crochet more hats for the Hope Closet. Laugh more; Watch more movies; Get out on my scooter (once the weather warms up). Go out for coffee alone, or with friends. Make my life less solitary.

Don't be superstitious. Have more fun.

Here's one from Groucho Marx. Each morning when I open my eyes i say to myself: "I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hadn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I am going to be happy in it."
I never was a big fan of Groucho Marx, but I really like that sentiment.

Good Night, TTYL, and Be Well,
