Just a few things
Friday was my birthday. I turned 54. There was no celebration to go with it. As a matter of fact DH sort of spaced out on it. Late in the day he told me he was going to go buy me something, then just spaced it out. I told him that what he could do was to make me a large pot of chai, which he did. So I am a happy girl with enough chai concentrate (he makes it that way) to last through the heat wave! I also got a small gift from a friend at the yard sale Saturday - a tote bag that has a Louisa May Alcott quote on it, "She is too fond of books and it has addled her brain," plus a little book called The Sisterhood of Wonderful Wacky Women.
Saturday, I spent the entire afternoon at our yard sale. We ended up making a little over $1000 to give to charity. It was one of our better sales; last year we made under $700. It is really interesting to take note of the people who frequent these sales. There are the kind who love to haggle you down, even if the price is already dirt cheap for the quality of the item, and then there is the type who amass vast quantities of, well junk really, and leave happy. But the type I like the best is the one that asks at the end "What is the sale for?" then after you tell them, they say keep the change, or give you an extra $5 or more. They are appreciated, especially in these economic times.
Yesterday's heat did me in. Once I got home, I was pretty weak. I came inside and flopped into my chair. I dozed off and on throughout the evening before catching a second wind and finally going to bed at 7 AM! After all that sleep, and cooling off, I feel back to normal. On the home front I am happy to report that all the flowers that have been on the patio table for a month are planted (by DH and four baskets by me), and seem happy in their larger homes.
Good Day, TTYL and Be Well

Happy 54th Webster. It is only a number I turned 54 this past march. Hard to believe because my body may feel the age my mind hasn't caught up yet. DAR!
