I need your help, please.

A couple or a few weeks ago I was fooling around with the layout of this blog, and as I was doing so I wanted to change the font to - yes - comic sans, the much overused font that some people want banned from the internet, but which I love and find very easy to read. So I followed a link to another, then another, and finally another site, and came upon the cutest blog on the block and downloaded my new font. Sounds simple, right? And so it was, except for two things: I can't seem to change the size of the titles of each post and I have no recollection of what I did to change it. I would like the titles to be much bigger than the body text. As it is now, they look more like a post script than a headline, and it just isn't right. Do you have any suggestions for me all you whizzes out there? I would surely appreciate it/them.

Sorry, but there's not much going on to write about in li'l ole' Webster's life right now. I canceled the newspaper for the summer so I can actually read some books! Tomorrow is my last delivery. I told them I would start up again in September. I felt bad, because I know that newspapers all around the country are stopping their presses and closing their doors, but on my budget I can't single handedly save the industry; Until summer's gone, that is.

DH planted the tomato plants today. It's July the
fucking tenth already! I'll let you know how that works for us. I'm dubious whether we'll have much of a harvest, but if this weather holds on throughout the Summer we may get lucky.

Hopefully
tomorrow he'll get to the table that's full of annuals on the patio. There's quite a variety, and they will look great when potted up - only two months later than usual. Most of May was too cool to plant annuals - then came June with its record-meeting number of warm rainless days. If only .... but it didn't happen. My friend L. was here earlier this week, and she went out back and started to loosen the soil in the raised bed. I think that might be what motivated DH to get moving. That, plus he's been on jury duty last week and this next week, so he's been getting up early and getting out of the house, which roiled his inertia a bit. Pray that it lasts!

I hand-washed a sinkful of dished today, which did me in, but I felt good for having accomplished that much by myself. Plus I emptied the dishwasher first so I could use it as a dish rack instead of towel drying them. It's not like there were many glasses which will show water spots. And if you don't like a clean water spot on one of my glasses, I'll be happy to tell you where the nearest towel is for you to take care of it yourself.

I chatted with another friend who just returned from a vacation that took her from Boston to Newfoundland to Quebec by plane then bus (I think). It sounds like they had a good time, and learned lots of stuff on the tours, which is her main focus when she takes trips. When I go away on a trip, I just want great weather, nice scenery, good food, and fun, but she wants a damned history lesson! Oh well, to each her own.

And on that note, I'm going off to bed.

Good night, TTYL and Be Well.

  1. Hey Webster!

Looking at your source html, I do see something that isn't looking quite right. Keep in mind I am not a pro at cascading style sheets (CSS) but that's where I think the problem lies. Maybe a variable definition is either missing or set up incorrectly.

If this were mine, I'd first find your title and make sure it is referencing proper variables (font style, size, color, etc). Your CSS should be the define what a header, footer, post, link, etc. is supposed to look like, and what each page should look like.

Study, stare, and contemplate...maybe the answer will reveal itself.

  2. Hi Webster,
Sorry, I can't help with the font ... you're a lot more adventurous where the fonts are concerned than I am. I just stick with one of the plainer options and always select "large" size in the hopes that it's readable.
    Best,
    Marty
