Day the Twentyfirst
I'm back to building my own fires to stay warm and making my own dinner, much to my chagrin. DH got me into this mess by staying up all night and sleeping all day (his bad habit schedule for years), and so I changed my schedule accordingly when it became clear I could barely fend for myself - especially in the kitchen. If I wanted to eat, and dinner wasn't ready until 2 AM, well, I just had to stay up to eat it, and a little longer to digest it.
But for the last week or so, DH has been going to bed before the nightly news and getting up with the chickens we don't have. Yesterday I stayed awake from about noon and all through the night and finally had to crash at 1 PM. I got up after a very restful sleep at 10 PM. Nine hours, waking to turn over maybe twice. I'm not a restless sleeper! I guess that makes sense - I don't move so very well when I'm awake!
Today (night) when I got up, DH was at the store. I knew he was gone because Beulah had started whimpering and barking. More than usual. Then I realized it was the first time she has been left alone in the house since Radagast died. So I yelled from the bedroom, "Don't worry Baby, I'm still here" and she calmed right down. I wonder if Punima, our indoor kitty feels anxious when we go. If she does, you'd never know it.
Good Night, TTYL and Be Well
I have been doing the can't get to sleep thing as of late. Lots of reading and eating popcorn.
ReplyDeleteUntil we get a new range cooking is a pain in the arse. I feel like I am living in a dorm using the skillet, crock pot, and toaster. At least these days we have microwaves.
Got a good microwave recipe for me?
Yep - go to the frozen food section of your grocery store. Budget Gourm$t, Michelin@s, etc. Supplement with fresh fruits. Good luck saving for the new range! [or bugging the landlord for one - whichever.]
