I Will Have This Entry Memorized . . .
... if I have to write it one more time. I have hit the little read X and deleted it twice now by jumping from tab to tab, so I will try to be more mindful this third try. Besides you all know what they say about third times. Charming. No?
It seems that my mind has gone blank - so give me a minute -----
Okay --- Lisa was right as usual, even though I can't say that definitively as I have only known of her for about two months, but my comments aren't working again - or should I say are still not working; They have not worked since 11/12, even though I have gone over the Settings in detail: Comments can show, in a pop-up window, anyone can comment, even on new posts which can have backlinks, and backlinks can show; [WTF is a backlink anyway?], timestamp formatted, I will always moderate comments, and you will give a word verification on them (what fun), and your profile pic will show. Have I covered everything? I think I have.
Now DH insists we have all this virus protection crap on the computer, so I have to manually allow scripts, but I have "white listed" blogger, blogspot, gmodules, google-analytics, google, googlegadgetworld, googlesyndication, yimg, and even mediawebmonster. Now, I ask you, what more is a poor girl (that's me, btw) to do?
Because I LIKE your comments, and I have MISSED your comments, even if I am very bad and don't always respond to your comments. [Note to Denver Refashionista- thanks for the tip about the lapdesk at Target for $20.] So if any of you have more bright ideas for me, do let me know, somehow.
I will end on a good note -- DH sold his 1976 ford truck that has been sitting out front for several years (it even was stolen once!, but returned without the paperwork, or radio, or fan, or bedliner, but at least we found it about a mile away. ANYWAY, the kid who loves across the alley will be turning that magical age of 16 at the end of January and approached DH about the availability of the truck. He offered $500 smackeroos for it as is - w/o a battery and with a flat tire.
DH told him $400 was okay, but it turns out his Dad had a spare battery, and filled the tire, and the truck started right up. Said teen's eye's lit up like a Christmas Tree! (It's a timely simile.) When I mentioned how costly it's going to be to insure it, he was all excited about getting a paper route to take care of expenses. But first he has the time to work on it and fix it up while he gets his driver's license. He may even paint it. So, smiles all around.
DH mentioned getting a DELL regular computer (desktop version) for $380.
I mentioned that he just yesterday told me about needing to have a tooth filled and that I still need about $100 toward my mattress. So NO HONEY - NO TOYS. Mama got all Scroogy on him.

It's a comment. Yeah!!
ReplyDeleteWord verification - not a fan personally. lol
What do you mean Lisa, not a fan? Didn't you want to create them? LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah I can make a comment - hope the gremlins don't take em away again LOL
ReplyDeleteNaw, that wasn't Lisa who wanted to the job of coming up with "special" word verifications...it was ME!!! Hehe...
ReplyDeleteComputers are only fun when they work right...and unless one is a programmer, I find there is NEVER an easy fix.

Oops, sorry Linda. I'm getting my "regulars" mixed up, apparently. Can I blame it on MS? lol
