Haiku - Apropos of Nothing

My name Inigo
Montoya. You killed my fa-
-ther. Prepare to die.

Okay okay - that's from The Princess Bride. I'm just warming up here.

From kitchen I smell
garbanzo beans and spices -
Hubs making dinner

Early morning hours
are when I am at my best
it's no time to sleep

I miss the daylight
but that's when I sleep the best
what's a girl to do?

I have tried changing
time and time again, no luck
Only when I must

Need to go shopping
Great Harvest has a loaf of
Pumpkin Swirl waiting.

Will go tomorrow
no matter what, I want it.
The bread calls my name.

That's it for haiku
which should be about nature
not hungry yearnings.

Good Night, TTYL and Be Well

  1. That made me very hungry for Turkey Day Dinner! Yummy!

  2. I did stay up and get the bread, which I am nibbling on right now. Save it for Thursday? NO WAY! I bought a pumpkin pie so we won't go empty handed. I eat a predominately vegetarian diet, but two or three times a year I can't wait to sink my teeth into some Turkey, or Prime Rib, or Ham, with all the fixin's too, of course. Have a good one!
