Lunch at Boathouse 19

The girls and I had lunch today at Boathouse 19 in University Place. It is located at the Narrows Marina at the foot of 19th street West and is a nice new waterfront restaurant that won't split open the pocketbook. No wonder the outdoor deck was packed at Noon.

I, and two others at my table had the cranberry turkey sandwich with cajun fries, one other had the Carolina pulled pork, and the last had a N'awlins shrimp Po'boy. Our only unhappy camper was the person with the pulled pork. Seems like they failed to pull the meat from the fat, as she had quite the pile of fat slid over to the side of her plate before she was done. Can we all agree on, "YUCK?"  That aside we each would go there again. I also got a dessert to go: the Lemon Cheesecake Jar (without the jar), which I put in the 'fridge until just a few minutes ago, and can I tell you something?    It was sooo gooo-oood. Yeah. Lemon Curd rocks.  Google Boathouse 19 University Place WA for a copy of the menu, and eat your hearts out.
How we knew this was the place.

Picture this filled with tables and umbrellas; we were sitting just to the left.

 Now I have to find a photo of the view from the Marina ...

And this was our view; Pretty, no?

Add to the ambiance: boats, mostly under cover, to your left, and railroad tracks that go long the shoreline to your right. I think four or five trains went by in the two hours that we were there.  Perfect.

Good Night, TTYL

P.S. I think next time I go there I will order from the snacks menu. Lots of options there.

P.P.S. Here's a picture of A Shrimp Po'Boy for TEC;

The Boathouse's didn't look much different, but I think they used less lettuce.

  1. Sounds like a great lunch with friends! Had to chuckle, though, that you mostly had southern dishes, and you're in WA!!! Did the cheesecake get baked in the jar? I had a chocolate cake once, baked in a small Mason jar! I think I'll try to replicate it. Glad you had such fun!
    Peace,

    1. I am pretty sure it was baked in a small Mason jar. That is how they serve it, but of course, I took mine to GO, so no jar for me. Sorry I didn't even think of taking our picture with my phone camera.

  2. That sounds truly lovely. However, can I ask you to lessen my ignorance. I have read about Po'boys before but have not the remotest idea what (other than something to eat) they are. Can you tell me please?

    2. Thank you. Essentially a genorously filled bread roll/baguette?

  3. Lemon curd and cheesecake are my ultimate favorites. Never tried them together, though. Sounds like heaven!
