TA-DA - I made it through the day.

I woke up to my alarm at 11:00 AM and spent the next two hours punching the snooze button. Switching from night to day hours in a day sucks big time. And here I am, still up at 5 AM. Anyway, I was awake and thinking by 1:00, so I called the pharmacy for a refill as the Rx expired today; then I called to make an appointment to have my hair trimmed and flat-ironed so it'll look good for a couple of days. I finally got out of bed at 1:30 and into the shower by 2:20; I was clean and my hair was dried by 3:15.

I had DH move my laptop to the dining room so I could make some prints before I had to leave, which I did. Then I defrosted two pieces of fried chicken and reheated them and had them for brunch, with a much needed cup of coffee. I made it to my 5:00 hair appt. early, then stopped at Arby's for a small frosty and curly fries which I ate while I drove across town to the meeting. I'm still feeling a little guilty about that - I didn't need to stuff myself with fast food. Geez.

This time I went to the right place (an assisted living center), unlike in March when I went to a nursing home that was the next stop down the street. Installation was on the agenda for tonight, and I am now 2nd Vice President - in charge of the educational program for the year. I'll have to have that nearly ready for the June 4th Board Meeting. I'm hoping to come up with something creative and fun. Brain cells: don't fail me now.

I got home just in time to see Grey's Anatomy, but I missed Ugly Betty (Wah!). I know ABC streams it, but I've had problems with them in the past so I'll just keep my fingers crossed and try to watch it tomorrow.

Our Mother's Day Luncheon is Saturday at 11:00 AM, another reason I should be sleeping right now, so I will be able to get up the next two days, and for a pre-noon appt. on Tuesday. Oh yeah, I have to put the final touches on a tribute to our president this year since I'm her sponsor, meaning I brought her into the Sorority. See, it's a service sorority and it is structured similar to panhellenic sororities. You don't just join, you have to be invited in. Anyway, I need to write this tribute to my "little sister," much of which was said tonight at installation but I need to make it a little longer.

Okay - that is making me tired just thinking about it. I need to go to bed.

So Good Night, TTYL and Be Well

P.S. I found that ABC.com has fixed their streaming problem and just watched Ugly Betty and Super Nanny, and now I'm going to bed for real.

  1. Sounds like you had a busy day. What sorority ? I was in one in college. I'm an old Tri Delta. Also, what business sorority ?

Hope you have a relaxing weekend.

  2. JC, The sorority I belong to is a service sorority, ESA Intl. Google it!

I think it's going to be a nice day today. Once I get some sleep, that is.

  3. You are entirely too busy! Your Sorority sounds very similar to Beta Sigma Phi, another service oriented sorority my mother was a member of years ago. I wish I had HALF your energy!

  5. Well what you didn't read was that after I stayed up all night (and most of the day) Thursday, Once I went to bed Friday morning I stayed there until Saturday morning, with a bathroom break at about midnight and then a couple of crossword puzzles and a Benedryl to allow me to fall back to sleep so I could get up Saturday morning for my luncheon.

I knew if I did it any differently I would either have been a basket case or I would have slept right through lunch which wouldn't do at all.

  6. Wasn't this blog post title a song by Diana Ross??? Or was that, "I Made It Through The Rain"??? Either way, you live in the NW, so both could be true...
