You may call me an idiot

 - but I'm surely not the only one; not only did I subscribe to O, the Oprah Magazine today, which is not necessarily a bad thing, and, at $12, is certainly a good deal along with getting a large tote bag - (and especially of I win one of the 15 Kindles they are giving away - send out good thoughts to the Universe on my behalf, okay?) which I will be using for my art supplies, which are both adding up and dwindling simultaneously, to wit my Strathmore art pad has just two pages left, and my gridded pad for new zentangles is now full, so...

... I ordered from DickBlick just a few minutes ago.

Art materials -- yep, three Strathmore drawing pads (a 4x6, a 9x13, and a ridiculously cheap 18x24 for $5). Plus pens - an 8-pack of black Sakura pigma microns, a 6-pack of color 01 Sakura microns, and a 10-pack of Sakura Glaze gelly roll pens. $75 total!!!  What was I thinking?

Damn but I love art supplies.  It's sort of like I like browsing in book stores almost more than I like to read the books. Well, that's not really accurate, but it's just easier to go looking for books than it is to sit down and read them. But I'm not even going to go there. I listen to my books these days, and it serves me well.

Now if only I could get better at my production with the art supplies. Sherri is SO much better at drawing than I am. One of these days I will show you.

Good Night (for real? it's7:45 am!), TTYL and Be Well,

PS: I didn't draw her, but isn't she cute? Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got her - but it was a gift - taken with permission.  (I promise)

  1. Sending vibes out that you win the Kindle. I enjoy book, art, and electronic stores. Each has it's own smell sounds weird but nothing smells like a book store.

Amazing how much stuff cost now days! And since you do all sorts of crafty things that I can not do or do as well as you I am with Sherri Pfff . ...

  2. Hi, I followed you home from Sherri's place. Nice to hear that someone else is suffering from MS porridge brain. That didn't come out right. I hope you know what I mean. I am seriously in awe of artistic people. Book shops are my drug of choice.

  3. @sherri - if i had a real art supply store around the corner i would use my newtome scooter and go there every tuesday, just because.

and you too are an artist. your tangles are every bit as good as those i have in the more popular books. yeah, thry created them - so what? you need to write a book with some of your doodling ideas. pfffttt, my ass.

@karen - yeah, the price adds up so quickly, doesn't it? i hit the floor today, but it was because of i don't know because i was sitting on an office chair with casters at the time, then a split second later i was on the floor. dh was outside, so i finished my sandwich while on the floor.

@herrad - oh i will. they shipped today and are supposed to get here on monday (halloween - spooky).

@jj - yes the prices really were good. but the really good bargain didn't ship. all the needed toys did, though. i'll wait and see.

@jj and jan - i'm thinking maybe i'll spring for a kindle next year, after i make some bigger payments on the credit card. need to know more about the various options - keyboard, reads to you, what the larger type looks like, etc.

@elephant's child - now that you've visited, you must join - become a follower, because i don't update nearly as often as i'd like to -- that forgot what I WAS GOING TO WRITE issue that i have - and you don't want to have to come over just to see that there's nothing new, now would you?

  4. well if i didn't have all my art stuff in storage i could show you what i used to do (and do giveaways of stuff i no longer want) but it's all IN STORAGE which frustrates the heck out of me... lots of stuff leftover from our retail paper store. =p

you guys are very good. =)

  5. I will not call you an idiot. I will call you a kindred spirit. I love buying organizational systems that I do not use. OK. Some of them I use but some of them I just INTEND to use. I love art supplies, too, but kid-level stuff. There is nothing like a brand new set of markers where none of the colors or caps is missing.
