I'm a Winner!

Yes, I got an E-mail today from Jan at Rose ♥ Haven telling me that I am one of the winners of eight crochet patterns that she is culling from her stash. As a beginner crocheter, it will be fun to see what these patterns are of, and if I will be making any of the (hopefully) lovely things.

Right now, I have finished two our of three baby hats, and started on one little receiving blanket. The first thing I notice is that it is taking me longer than I thought it would with the blanket, and the second is that I need to buy some more baby weight yarns in appropriate colors. Plus, I hope to find the ever popular size G crochet hook that has been missing every time I look for one. What's up with that?

I had a lovely Easter dinner at my cousins. My second cousin's friend , who is a PT, knows my PT, and is in a study group with her husband. So we had a little chat about what I was doing, etc. And my first cousin twice removed brought her boyfriend along, and he seemed quite nice. My first cousin fell a month ago and pulled a bunch of stuff (muscles and tendons) and she is still sore and healing. She has a weak hip, and lost her balance, and now has the soft tissue damage to show for it. Getting old is a bitch (she's 70). And all she will do for it is take Bufferin.

DH has called the owner of a dog listed on Craig's list and we're going to meet him tomorrow. His name is Romeo, he's just under two years old, not neutered which will have to be taken care of at some point, and he is half Labrador and half Husky. [Would that be a Huskador?] We're told he's a sweetie pie, and I sure hope so. DH is really attached to getting another dog right away - me, not so much. I'd just as soon wait until the weather warms up and dries out a bit more. Also, more time to grieve Beulah, who is still not in the ground. [That task was interrupted by rain today. Let me just say that I'm glad the weather is as cool as it is for that reason alone!]

My leg has been jumping off and on most of this evening, so since three baclofen haven't done anything for it, I'm just going to go to bed.

Good Night, TTYL and Be Well,

  2. Webster - when our wonderful pup Sally died 2/11, we both wanted to get a new dog right away. We vacillated between puppy and adult dog; we could have gotten an adult right away. We decided to hold off a bit and I'm glad we did. We've had more time to grieve for Sally. And, we've been able to thoughtfully consider the merits of adult vs puppy and have decided to go the puppy route.

With all that said, we had two dogs before Sally died, so we still have one in the house. If we were dog-free I might have been forced to get one instantly as well.

I hope whatever course you take, you get a wonderful dog that gives you much love and happiness for years to come, much like Buelah did.
