Nothing Has Changed

This is my 11th day of feeling like crap and my fifth day on amoxicillin. Will this never end? At least I've stopped with the low grade fevers, and my throat isn't sore anymore, but my head is thick with ghostbuster goo. I've been slimed, and if you come near me I will slime you too. So my question to you is, "Who you gonna call?"

I went to my meeting last Thursday. Luckily, I didn't have anything to present because my voice was all froggy. Since it's a sinus infection, I know I'm not contagious. DH won't let me go to PT. My PCP doc told me not to go to PT. So I sit here and hope my ear doesn't pop (which hurts like hell).

I've been listening to The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold while crocheting a baby blanket. I also finished My Lobotomy by oops I forget, and it was sad what the psychiatrists of the 1950s and early 1960s got away with. That poor guy was nearly ruined by the manipulations of his step-mother in collusion with a doctor just looking for fame. I'm waiting on The Help and Three Cups of Tea.

Romeo is a sweetheart. He hasn't "counter surfed" for three nights now. He did teach himself a new trick last Thursday, when DH was out in the garage with me. He climbed out the screened bathroom window into the back yard. DH went to go back into the house, and there Romeo was, all locked in the yard. Took a careful glance around the back yard to notice what was different: there was a screen laying in the garden. So now the window has a little lock on it so it won't open all the way. I tell you, this little Romeo is a bright boy. Show him the butter dish top (complete with bite marks) and he sits but won't look you in the eye. Smart dog that remembers.

Okay, just thought I post an update. Keeping it short because I feel like shit.

Good Night, TTYL and Be Well,

PS: Today, April 19, would have been my parents' 72nd wedding anniversary; alas they only celebrated 59 years together before my father passed. Which ain't nothing to sneeze at.

  1. I hope you start to feel much better really soon. Ghostbuster Goo - that's rather descriptive. :)

Romeo does look like a sweetheart, but sounds like a bit of a handful.

  4. Hiya Webster! Hope your feeling better. I been having issues getting to use my computer LOL so I am slow in the commenting department.

Extra peep has now flown off headed for Kosovo so as much as I love the kid we will now hopefully be able to get back to our comfortable routine.

Romeo sounds like he is going to be one great companion and smart too. Annie thinks she would like him as together they could figure out new ways to sneak some butter.

my parents are at 59 years and your right that is nothing to sneeze at.

Popping ears - yeah when combined with goo and slime - ouch.

  5. Ohhhh, yes! I read "My Lobotomy" too. I didn't know they did that to the Kennedy sister! OMG! The doctor did it with icepicks! YIKES!

That book gave me the creeps. He was a doctor for pete's sake. A real one and he stuck icepicks in people's eye sockets. Yes people... he did. :-< Even did it to Kennedy's sister!

  6. Thanks for your comments. I still feel like crapola. I misspoke - it wasn't like Ghostbuster Goo; GG was green as I recall. Mine is of the yellow variety - but that seems to be clearing. Sorry if I'm grosing you out, but that's what I do.

Romeomeomeo is a real card! He loves his Kong, an I'm sure will love chasing a Frisbee and a ball in the Spring, well it is Spring, but it's still too col to sit on the patio, so Summer then.

Anyone want to come over and train him? There's an extra bed upstairs. I'll feed you.

Welcome back to the blogosphere, Jan. Missed you. So Annis likes the butter too, eh?

Sherry? Those lobotomies? Many were performed in Western State Hospital which is about 8 miles from my house. Also, in the book he wrote of setting up an office and performing them in UN-STERILE conditions! Totally creepy.

Now I'm listening to World Without End, another never ending book by Ken Follett.
