Movie Night

Tonight I watched two Netflix movies that have been sitting here for several days, The Bucket List with Jack Nickolson and Morgan Freeman, and Bobby written, produced, directed, and starring Emilio Esteves and many others including Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, William H Macy, Heather Graham, Martin Sheen, Helen Hunt and more. I wasn't expecting to like this, but I did. It was edited seamlessly with actual footage of Robert Kennedy's run for the 1968 presidential election. It was really quite riveting. So, it was a movie and nachos kind of evening; really rainy and windy outside, cozy and comfy inside.

It just occurred to me that we are having another record breaking year for rain in November which makes me wonder how much of that rain is ending up in the inside of our garage . . . which has a roof that is very old and leaky and is in need of replacing. We have the shingles, just not the gumption to get it done. (That's the royal we, that is. It's DH's job, and I've been waiting five, yes I said five, years for him to get to work on it. Alas.) At least the roof on the house isn't leaky - yet.

My friend Lynn has made it to Ghana safely. She is there for a wedding, and will be back on the 1st of December. We are dog sitting for her - - taking care of her itty bitty 3# doggy, Starr. We're trying to teach Starr some manners in these three weeks, like asking us to go out to go potty!, and not beg for people food whenever we're eating. She seems to be catching on, though. She has asked to go out to pee twice and there's been no poo in the house for two days now, which is wonderful progress! She's pretty smart - just spoiled rotten, and she misses her Mommy. There is also the issue of her making the adjustment to our very different schedule, I'm sure. But she seems to be adjusting.

Well, that's it for tonight, folks.

Good Night, TTYL, and Be Well

  1. I've seen the bucket list but only bits of Bobby ...

  2. JC, Somehow I don't think 'bits of Bobby" would make a lot of sense. Thinking about it, I imagine the movie is worth my watching it again as all the characters were not immediately introduced and I didn't know who was who until later. Second time through, however, it might make more sense.

Starr was up to her old tricks last night. She pooped not once in the house, but twice! Can't see as I blame her as it was raining so hard all day yesterday and last night I don't think I'd want to stand out there in one place long enough to do it either!
