Feeling Guilty

There, I said it, I'm feeling guilty for not posting lately. Even though I have, right there in the sidebar, a Blogging Without Obligation gadget thingy, here I am feeling guilty. It's just that I don't have anything to write about. Perhaps, I kid you not, I should start carrying around a little notebook to write down the pithy little things that occasionally pop into my head to tell all y'all about.

Lynn has been back in Yakima packing up the things she's really attached to. For someone who moves as often as she has been during these past ten years, it boggles my mind how much she has accumulated! Much of it will not be brought here, as there simply is no space for it. DH and I have been wondering to each other, well speculating really, how long she will actually live here. Her son promised the use of his regular sized pickup truck, only to be transferred to do training at another base in Georgia or So. Carolina or somewhere - so apparently he won't be around to help as he offered. But she has told me she has a few friends and access to another truck and that may come together this week sometime. THEN, we can focus on getting her settled in here.

Can you believe it's Labor Day Weekend already? It has cooled off, and even turned a bit showery, as is appropriate for September I guess. It just feels so wrong after the beautiful Summer we had this year. It's a rapid change.

I told DH that I want to do the Puyallup this year. I've always said that once every ten years is about right for the Fair. It's always the same - and I like that. I like checking out all the farm animals, the smiles on the 4-H kids who have won ribbons, the incredibly colorful and intricate displays of produce, the fine handwork in the Hobby Hall - the quilts and the stitchery and the like, the hawkers - oh, the hawkers, who try to sell you the most amazing things. Then there's the Fair Food. I like to get a corn-on-the-cob, something to drink, a scone (if the line's not too long). I was thinking that I have never had a corn dog. Are they any good? Oh, and a soft ice cream cone from the Dairy Barn! Then there's my favorite thing - the people watching! Well, we'll see if we make it there. It goes from the 11th to the 27th (I think). So there is plenty of time to decide and pick a date.

I am seeing my PCP on the 8th, I have a meeting on the 17th, and I have appts. set up for the 22nd, 23rd, and 25th, so I guess the 13-16th sounds best to me. Weather permitting, of course. OK, I've posted, and run out of things to say, none of which were pithy. Sorry.

Good Night, TTYL and Be Well

  1. It is nice that you posted. I was wondering where o where has Webster gone, o where, o where can she be . ...

If expectations are that posts should come more frequently then then perhaps you could carry around a small tape recorder and transcribe your daily "pithy" ideas -LOL

Seriously, why blog when ya don't wanna? Guilt is not an option.

I enjoy fairs too. I stay away from our State Fair because it is way to crowded and sometimes the human animals prove that they are in fact that - animals.

The smaller County Fairs farther up north - now that is the ticket purchase I go for. The 4-H kids are so darn - well, cute.

  5. Oh, my, I remember how downtown Puyallup used to smell of onions during the Puyallup Fair. Fair Burgers! Thank you for reminding me.
