Kreativ Blogger Award


Today I received the Kreativ Blogger Award from Herrad who continues to inspire and uplift me in our processes of living with this disease. Thank you so much, Herrad. I'm so glad you enjoy reading my Blog. [note - is blog supposed to be capitalized? I have no idea.]

I was supposed to have my cath changed today, but they had two people call in sick and were very backed up so we rescheduled for Thursday. Instead I went to Fransiscan Medical Group (after calling them on my new cell phone! to make sure they had every thing in stock). I went across the street to pick up some supplies, then I went to Sound Medical to get an estimate for repairing my right side walker brake which is not working at. all. Turns out they don't have anyone there who does repairs, but referred me elsewhere. HOWEVER, right next door was this nice looking coffee shop called, um .... Forza.....

which was just what the doctor ordered as I didn't get more than 2 1/2 hours sleep last night. I KNOW! What the F--- is the matter with me? Anyway, I was about to order a latte when I noticed a sign with a trivia question of the day on it that promised either a free flavor or an extra shot if you got the answer right. The question: What single bone in the human body does not touch any other bone? Lucky me to have taken anatomy classes in college and for my massage license, because I knew the answer. The hyoid bone. So I had a double tall latte, and a plain bagel with light cream cheese. Then I did the crossword puzzle in ink.

My next stop was to American Medical where they have a repairman, and I went in to get an estimate. Turns out it was a manufacturing defect that I had never paid any attention to until lately when it stopped braking on the right side, period. It was fixed - for free! So, all-in-all, I would consider this a GOOD day. [Even though I feel the waning of the caffeine and want a nap.]

I just called my friend who is going to help me clean my room, and she won't have a free weekend day until after the 15th -- when she will return from a vacation to ???Hawaii???; anyway she wants me to pick up some lottery tickets for her while she's away, three days a week. So no problemmo - Perhaps I'll bring her luck and she hits the big one!

    What a great memory to recall something like the hyoid bone. If I ever knew it, I've long forgotten.

    I thought of you, Marty, when I ordered my bagel.

    As for the other 200 +/- bones in the body, I don't know them all anymore - that's for sure.

no sooner had i written that last post than i came  down with a  fever and a raging case of cellulitis. needless to say i was admitted into the hospital the monday before thanksgiving and stayed until  the sunday  after. i did however order a turkey dinner on thursday, and they served a special dessert! since i came home, i haven't heard from my caregiver... so i called the office and spoke with her supervisor. it turns out that she was clocking  in and out all week! that's tantamount to fraud. don't know what'll happen to her. i have had two caregivers since. both i liked, but the first one lasted only one day, and the other hasn't had much experience. i'll give her a chance and we'll see what happens. good night, ttyl, and be well.

My MS Update 2017

I entered last year celebrating by watching 'new year at the needle' fireworks display (The Seattle Space Needle) on a hospital TV.  I was in there from 12/27/16 to 1/3/17 with, I believe, cellulitis and a bladder infection.  I have been in the hospital several times since then, 5/19 to 5/22  with cellulitis. I didn't have any cuts so it must have been a cat claw poke or a bug bite... any break in the skin will do for those of us who are immuno-compromised. August brought me in hospital from 8.19  to 8/25 with the perfect trifecta -  cellulitis, vaginal and bladder infections. So, how am I doing? you might ask. Well,  36 years with MS and this is my current condition. From head to toe, here goes nothing. if you are newly diagnosed let me tell you here that mine is not a typical case, but still, you may want to stop reading now. head - intermittent memory lapses; I thank the heavens for post-it notes, I have three on my laptop now reminding me...

my back yard pt. 2

well. there's a new addition to the pet cemetery. last  week we lost Rajah, brother to nishita and punima who died in 2o18. he's buried adjacent to them. when dh was digging the grave, he found  a large skull of a dog (not ours), so he had to put a little more space than we would have preferred between the cats. i  imagine in thirty years or so, whoever buys the house and digs up the yard will be quite surprised. good night, ttyl, and be well in this year of COVID-19
