Oh, Shit!
I went to a meeting tonight; first time I've been out in a couple of weeks, I think... and all went well. We got there on time, DH assisted me up the step and the ramp which both seemed steeper than the last time I was there (meaning, ahem, that I really needed a little assistance). I remembered to give my report on Easter Seals and on MS, two of our philanthropic projects. I remembered to deliver the ornaments that were donated by Attila the Mom to be auctioned off at the Spring State Meeting. I forgot to ask for some statistics from last year, but Babs seemed to have a lot to do tonight, so I'll wait for those. So, everything went just hunky-dory.
I came home and we eventually had dinner. After dinner, DH decided to have a beer so I decided to have a drink, too. I got up and pulled the Kahlua and Vodka from the cupboard and grabbed a shot glass from the espresso machine. Not paying much attention, and too late, I realized it was the double shot glass. I poured myself a White Russian with four shots of vodka and two shots of kahlua!
It is ninety % down the hatch, and I would say that I am officially drunk. You don't have to draw my blood to be certain, my spinning head tells the truth of it. Now I have to ask myself, "Do you dare to try to stand up like this, or do you wait?" Perhaps a short nap at the table is the better course of action at this point. Just so long as I am sitting straight in my chair so I don't end up on the floor, I should be fine. Pray for us sinners.
Good Night, TTYL, and Be Well,

Hmmm...sounds like a fun evening after all:)
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Leann
Oh goodness! And not one single typo! I bow before you. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, shit, indeed! A mistake easily made, Webster. Even though it's a pain in the ass most days, having MS can come in handy: "Naturally, I *intended* to pay for that, madam!" "Oh dear, sorry for [insert enormous breach of etiquette here]" and so on.
ReplyDeleteOMG! This is hysterical! Webster is drunky-poo! Hope you enjoyed your little cocktail, despite the wooziness. Will you have a hangover, too?
ReplyDeletePeace,
Muff
Been there...done that!
ReplyDeleteIt was... sorta fun. Believe me, there were plenty of typos, which I fixed along the way. I think my big mistake was in not choosing a bigger glass; I could have added more milk and saved the rest until morning. White Russian: the new Breakfast Drink! And no hangover today - just a slight headache which didn't last long.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments!
Oooh. It ia a long time since I have had a White Russian, and you have my tastebuds twitching. Perhaps later today...
ReplyDeleteHi - sounds like your poured yourself a "stiff-one" as the saying goes. :-) I enjoy wine - love whites in the warmer weather and reds in the colder months. Come by my place some time and take a peek around. This blogging thing works good when it is a two way street, I think anyways. Happy trails...
ReplyDeleteLove Gail
peace.....
Lord have mercy!! I am praying still. tsk tsk
ReplyDelete2nd comment lost? All I am really trying to do is say hi Webster Wish I knew what was happening. So how are you? I'm wondering if you ever got thru the beauracratic mess
ReplyDeleteHere, here to the sinners!
ReplyDeleteE.C. - White Russian is one of go-to drinks. I need to get another bottle of Kahlua, now. Gail, it was a stiff one. I like wine as well, both red and white, both in all seasons. Diane, perhaps it's an idea for your new liquid diet? Gretchen, all your comments came through. I am doing not as well as when I saw you. I gave up on the bureaucratic mess. I figured that if I didn't have a doctor in my corner, I was screwed. So I wait awhile longer before trying again. Kellie, here, here, indeed!! Just doing my part.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting!!
You wrote this, on the 22nd. It's now the 26th. Figuring that you are still "functioning", (-grin-) I'll applaud the double drink. Seems your body was telling you that you could use a really relaxing interlude. ,-) Oh that delightful buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the suggestion, about getting my hands on un-found books-in-a-series. Yes, we do have a very extensive Inter-library Loan System and usually, it's super. But now and then, I hit a "bare spot." And can't find this or that.
If I really, really, really want to see how a series gets "tied-up", I look for the book, "used" at Amazon, and get it, cheaply. :-)

I hope you did not try to stand while your head was spinning...I am sure you are fine now since it is March
ReplyDeleteThis is just hilarious! Wish I had been there. And you know what, it's good for you. I read once that Oprah said something about why bother getting up to make two drinks, just make a double at the beginning. :<)
