The middle of January
Well, damn, Where did the month go? When you don't go anywhere and you don't do anything time passes quickly. Just sayin' that I don't have anything to write about.
The Winter doldrums are pretty much gone. I guess I'm feeling better in the blues department. So that is a good thing. I also have another bladder infection and am taking antibiotics again, so that is a not so good thing, but explains why I was feeling like crap for a few weeks. Not that I'm feeling so much better now. Still....
I have crocheted another hat for myself. This one has ear flaps! I know. What is a 54 year old woman thinking about when she makes such a thing? She is thinking that in cold weather, her ears get cold. She is thinking function over form. She is thinking how could she design a hat with a nose warmer. That's what she is thinking - and she made them so they can be neatly tucked in when not needed. How about that? Genius, no?
Next I think I want to make a coffee cozy. And learn to felt. Or something. I feel antsy. I feel like I need to be doing something other than reading blogs and watching TV. I want to be reading, but I am finding it difficult. Not sure why - whether it's my lack of concentration - a definite possibility, or whether it's my eyes. I haven't visited an optometrist in four and a half years - probably the longest lapse since I started wearing glasses in second grade! I must make an appointment, and soon.
I will resume regular posts in a couple weeks. I'll do NaBloPoMo next month, and that will get me back on track. In the meantime,
Good night, TTYL, and Be Well.

Hi Webster: Thank you for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteIf you are still feeling antsy, the doldrums are not gone.
I applaud that you are still able to function so well - handiwork, crafting, etc. That part of my life is over - I used to make anything plastic canvas (large holes in the plastic allowed me to continue this for 20 years) and I have a surplus of boutique tissue boxes that are still being given away to this day.
I can't handle the long craft shows as my fatigue puts me down halfway through.
So if you are looking for a hobby, plastic canvas is easy to do, easy to SEE the holes and uses yarn instead of threads.
Books on tape is where it is at for me - I would run them while I crafted.
Have fun in whatever you choose.
Take care,
Anne
Hi Webster,
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime take it easy.
Keep warm and cheerful with you crochetingand other creative activities.

Herrad

Antsy in the gloomy Winter months LOL sounds about normal whatever normal is.
ReplyDeleteHat with nose warmer ummm does it have to tuck in too?
Hi Webster,
ReplyDeleteYou are right this month is going fast.
Your hat with the ear flaps sounds warm and snuggly.
Hope your bladder infection gets better soon.
By the way I have one too, on day 3 of my antibiotics.
Hate taking them.
Keep warm.
Love,
Herrad
Hi Webster,
ReplyDeleteGood News: Ear Flaps are in!
Best,
Marty
Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteI love to do artsy crafts, but it takes energy and dexterity that I don't have so much of anymore. Still, I'm off to a good start with the crochet hook, and now have a reason to use it! PS: Read next entry!! Books on tape are just what I'll be looking for at the library.
Hi Herrad,
I take my last antibiotic tomorrow morning. These didn't upset my stomach, so weren't bad at all. I just forget to take them! Ten days!! We'll both be better soon.
Jan,
Tuck in a nose warmer? Nah. I think I'll design it so it just hangs there when not in use. Whaddya think?
Hi Marty,
I had no idea that ear flaps are in. I thought I was putting function before form.
Thanks for all your comments! Bye.
Webster perhaps a tie of some sorts then you could pull it up and attach it to the top.
ReplyDeleteIt could have a nice pattern as to add to the beauty of the hat.
LOL
