Truth Be Told ... Not for the Timid ... or TMI ---Take Your Pick
I would like to start off the new year by vowing to telling the truth. I mean, would I lie to you? I don't think so. But a lie by omission is still a lie, right? Listen up MS organizations - that was meant for you.
As limited as my life is, being bedridden and very nearly paraplegic, it really isn't that bad. I'm generally content, and I am not the one who has to clean up my messes; to wit, when I shit in my diaper,
I don't have to wipe my own ass. No, that job goes to my DH or my caregiver.
Today was shower day, and because of all the antibiotics I've been on, my bowel regimen is all messed up (so to speak); instead of sitting in the tub, I decided to use the shower chair, and it was a good thing I did, too, because once I was done with the shower, and was back in the sling, I started to poop...
in the tub, well, if I was taking a bath instead of a shower there would be no getting clean without a follow-up shower ... which would, in a January cold snap, likely have ended up being a very cold one.
If that had happened well, what can I say?
Antibiotics have killed off my intestinal flora and it will take me a few weeks to build it back up. Activia yogurt (for probiotics), Florastor 2- 3 times a day, and Benefiber in my water. I also drink at least 64 oz. of water each day. That's my regimen.
So I guess all I really want to say about my afternoon is this: all's well that ends well.
Good Night, TTYL, and Be Well,

Hooray for positive endings.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling more normal soon. I know it must be awful. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteActually, I feel fine. Thank you both for being loyal readers.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read MS symptoms in 1979 this was the most scary to me! Not the wheelchair etc but bowel bladder incontinence! It is funny how we start out in diapers and may end up in them later in life. Sad really. I am impressed by DH, not sure my hubs would do that??
ReplyDeleteKim, I think your Hubs would do anything for you. :-D
