It's Damned Google+

Google+ is what fucked me over. It has connected my blog to Facebook, and therefore "outed" my anonymity. It recognises only my real name, not Webster. But I write as Webster; I know it's a small thing, and doesn't really affect me that much as so few people who know the real me read my blog. But now I guess they can - if they were so inclined.

I guess it was just a matter of time before Google would merge Facebook and Blogger. We all should have seen that coming. But I am myopic. No, really, I am.  My glasses are thick around the edges. Seriously thick. As, it would seem, is my brain.

I have started a Wordpress blog, but since I am still in the learning stage, if you visit it there's not much there. Just one post so far. Heck, I'm not even sure of its' address! So, don't even bother trying to find it. I'll let you know when it's up and running; if it ever is. I would need to take a fair amount of time with it, and I'm not sure I want to do that right now.

Our unseasonably cool Spring has left us and here comes a week of unseasonably warm Summer weather. Lately it's been taking me at least 90 minutes to get dressed when I wake up. I can't imagine what an extra 10* (predicted for Monday) will do to that.

OH, and by the way, everything came back (on my blog) when I re-booted, just as several of you said it would. So you're still all here and I can read you. I don't use Google Reader (never have), and your posts are showing up just as they always have. And that's all fine with me.

So I'll be off with that. Do some tangling, fold a hedron or two, perhaps (they are so fun to do).

    I am sorry that you got outed (sounds funny). The old measure twice and cut once needs to be re done for the internet. Google does have a rule that you can only use your "real" name. Hence when importing . ...

    Between my ON and brain fog I take a read four times and hit the button once approach. I somehow have managed to keep my accounts separate - so far - knock on the computer screen.

    they discontinued google reader LOL so I have a few days left to figure what to do about that one. AUGH

    here we are under an Excessive Heat Waring It is already 80 at 9am at 54% humidity and it is gonna get hotter 106-108 with overnight lows of 70s to lower 80's

    We don't do high heat high humidity here. I sure do not do either well.

    Off to try and find your worppress blog before I have to shut down due to excessive heat in the computer room!

    I unlinked Google+ from my blog because people without it couldn't find my posts. Sometimes Google makes like hard for its users.

    My real name is on Facebook. But my blog and email address aren't real names. Gmail thinks my name is Ami Mental. And who knows, maybe they're right?

    I haven't used my real last name on any blogs, I use my maiden name, and middle name, and I haven't signed up for google+. My last name on facebook is my mom's maiden name. So all my accounts are seperate.

    I dont use my real last name either....so I dont like the 'big brother' of FB and Google...it is happening though

    I use my real most of the time
    on different blogs I have.
    As comments already said it is not possible
    to be 'big brother'-ed anymore nowadays.

    Anyway WordPress have this possibility
    not to use your real name.
    I like it very much and there is new platform
    coming out, built on WordPress with great
    possibilities ...

no sooner had i written that last post than i came  down with a  fever and a raging case of cellulitis. needless to say i was admitted into the hospital the monday before thanksgiving and stayed until  the sunday  after. i did however order a turkey dinner on thursday, and they served a special dessert! since i came home, i haven't heard from my caregiver... so i called the office and spoke with her supervisor. it turns out that she was clocking  in and out all week! that's tantamount to fraud. don't know what'll happen to her. i have had two caregivers since. both i liked, but the first one lasted only one day, and the other hasn't had much experience. i'll give her a chance and we'll see what happens. good night, ttyl, and be well.

My MS Update 2017

I entered last year celebrating by watching 'new year at the needle' fireworks display (The Seattle Space Needle) on a hospital TV.  I was in there from 12/27/16 to 1/3/17 with, I believe, cellulitis and a bladder infection.  I have been in the hospital several times since then, 5/19 to 5/22  with cellulitis. I didn't have any cuts so it must have been a cat claw poke or a bug bite... any break in the skin will do for those of us who are immuno-compromised. August brought me in hospital from 8.19  to 8/25 with the perfect trifecta -  cellulitis, vaginal and bladder infections. So, how am I doing? you might ask. Well,  36 years with MS and this is my current condition. From head to toe, here goes nothing. if you are newly diagnosed let me tell you here that mine is not a typical case, but still, you may want to stop reading now. head - intermittent memory lapses; I thank the heavens for post-it notes, I have three on my laptop now reminding me...

my back yard pt. 2

well. there's a new addition to the pet cemetery. last  week we lost Rajah, brother to nishita and punima who died in 2o18. he's buried adjacent to them. when dh was digging the grave, he found  a large skull of a dog (not ours), so he had to put a little more space than we would have preferred between the cats. i  imagine in thirty years or so, whoever buys the house and digs up the yard will be quite surprised. good night, ttyl, and be well in this year of COVID-19
