Lookee What I Made...
I made an icosahedron! And tangled it!
And there it sits on my keyboard. Lousy photo taken by moi (with my phone camera) [our regular camera has too many pixels for blogger and I don't know how to resize.]
My art project that is in progress is a white box, about the size of a shoebox, tangled on all sides and then filled with several various shaped hedrons and/or prisms made of water color paper, then decorated with Zentangles.
The box has a little way to go yet before it gets varnished for it's protection, then filled with odd shapes. I had made a truncated icosahedron (which was easier btw), but I gave that to the nurse who administered my last dose of SoluMedrol. She took an interest and I knew I was going to make it over in heavier paper anyway, so WTH.
I can find ways to entertain myself.
And I love to get in touch with my artsy side.
Good Night, TTYL, and Be Well,

Good Night, TTYL, and Be Well,

you have an artsy side for sure.
ReplyDeleteps. I resize or downsize my photos on a photo editing place like IPiccy.com....it must work but there are several out there that do that editing thing
Way cool! I no longer do any artwork -- I just can't retrain my left hand to adapt. But the creative part of me still remains in my brain. Your tangles are so pretty!
ReplyDeletePeace,
Muff
That is seriously awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI am working on another really big tangle, but I have no idea what I will do with it when it's done. It will probably collect dust. And get crumpled around the edges.
I'm about 7 hours into it now.
Oh my. That is so clever. I am filled with awe...
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. I love to do art, but there's only certain stuff I do that ends up "good enough." This was one of those. It was an idea that come from Zentangle; apparently the die that comes in their box is a 20-sided icosahedron, to go along with their 20 basic tangles. The object being, if you can't decide, throw the die.
ReplyDeleteSo, I googled icosahedron and found a paper pattern and printed it out on water color paper, tangled it, then creased it along it's fold lines, and glued it together. Such fun it was.
I notice that I have a little bit of a tremor, so will do what I can for as long as I can. (Same goes for my vision, alas.)
And icosahedron! I learned something new. I had no idea that's what it's called.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is some fancy folding! I think it looks great.
Happy weekend, jj
Cool talent! Where and how did you learn to do that? Here's a website to resize pictures - http://www.picresize.com/ Our local classified website refers to it so I've used it and I assume it's safe.
ReplyDeleteGoogle is my friend. Look up paper models icosahedron and you will find sites that will boggle your mind. Print out one that you like, decorate it, cut it out, then glue it together. Easy peasy - until you get to the Tetrahemihexahedron. I have mine all decorated and cut out and I can't for the life of me figure out how it goes together.
ReplyDeleteHeck, I'm just sitting here. I have to entertain my brain somehow!
Cute..I only do stick figures.
ReplyDeleteWow - it's really neat! Bravo my friend!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for you sweet comments!
