This and that ...
I just watched this TED talk about consciousness which was interesting in and of itself, but what I found most interesting was the last five minutes - after his talk. Imagine if they could implant electrodes inside our damaged MS brains and let us strap on a receiver so we all could walk normally once again. Unfortunately, our world is still too greedy for this to happen - at least in my lifetime. What a long way we still need to go before we can consider ourselves evolved.
Interesting, too, that he talked about brain plasticity. That, in a nutshell, means that nothing is absolute where brain injury is concerned, and that we, as people with MS, should never give up hope.

Lessee - about my MRI - No new lesions, no new activity, a couple old T2,T3 lesions - so no steroids are called for. if I want to go back on the C I need to give Shared Solutions a call, and they will arrange it for me, and tell me if it's okay to use what I have in the fridge in the garage. If I want to try something else, I need to schedule another appointment to discuss my options. I'm on the fence, so i haven't dine anything, yet. My relapse, if you could call it that, seems to have stabilized so I'm really just sitting on the fence. Luckily it's a cool Summer so I've been holding my own. I think.

We had a family BBQ/gathering on July 2nd for my brother's annual visit from Japan. I rode up with my cousins, so didn't have to do any driving. I would have driven, but... I didn't really feel like it - so I didn't. Getting to ride in her nice Jeep was better anyway, especially since there was an accident and it took an hour longer than usual in stop and go traffic. My car probably would have overheated or something. One thing about hand controls - they're really nice when driving conditions are like that.
My niece's husband is a locksmith, and he re-keyed the ignition for the scooter that was gifted to me a few years ago. Now, I have to get batteries for it. Am working on that... 'cuz it sure would be nice to tool around the neighborhood this Summer.

I have finished reading A Week in December and am on Part 5 (out of 20) in Anthropology of an American Teen. Finished The Terrible Privacy of Maxwell Sim in June.
